Password Reset and Recovery
Learn how to reset your password if you’ve forgotten it or need to change it for security reasons.
Forgotten Password Process
If you’ve forgotten your password, follow these steps to reset it:
Initiating the Reset
- Go to the Shifts login page
- Click on the “Forgot Password?” link below the login form
- Enter your email address associated with your account
- Click “Send Reset Link”
- Check your email inbox for a message from Shifts
Completing the Reset
- Open the password reset email from Shifts
- Click the “Reset Password” link in the email (valid for 24 hours)
- Enter your new password and confirm it
- Remember that passwords must meet the security requirements
- Click “Reset Password” to save your new password
- You’ll be redirected to the login page to sign in with your new password
Password Requirements
For security reasons, your password must meet the following criteria:
- Minimum 8 characters in length
- At least one uppercase letter (A-Z)
- At least one lowercase letter (a-z)
- At least one number (0-9)
- At least one special character (e.g., !@#$%^&*)
Changing Your Password Regularly
It’s good practice to change your password periodically:
- Log in to your Shifts account
- Go to your Profile page by clicking your name in the top-right corner
- Select the “Security” tab
- Click “Change Password”
- Enter your current password and your new password twice
- Click “Save Changes”
If You Don’t Receive a Reset Email
If you don’t see the password reset email:
- Check your spam or junk folder
- Verify you entered the correct email address
- Wait a few minutes as emails can sometimes be delayed
- Try requesting another reset email
- If you still don’t receive it, contact your manager or system administrator
Two-Factor Authentication Considerations
If you have two-factor authentication enabled and reset your password:
- You’ll still need to provide a 2FA code when logging in with your new password
- Your 2FA settings will remain unchanged after a password reset
- If you’ve lost access to your 2FA device, contact your system administrator
