Overview
The Clock In/Out feature in Shifts allows you to record when you start and end your shifts, ensuring accurate time tracking and attendance management. The system includes verification methods to prevent time fraud and ensure you’re at the right location when clocking in or out.
How to Clock In
When you arrive for your shift:
- Log into the Shifts platform via the web or mobile app
- On your dashboard, find the Current Shift card
- Click the prominent Clock In button
- If required by your company settings, you may need to:
- Allow location access to verify you’re at the correct location
- Take a photo for facial verification
- Connect to the workplace Wi-Fi network
- Once verified, the system will confirm your clock-in was successful
How to Clock Out
When your shift ends:
- Return to the Shifts dashboard
- Find the Current Shift card showing your active shift
- Click the Clock Out button
- Complete any required verification steps similar to clock-in
- Add any notes about your shift if needed
- Submit your clock-out
Verification Methods
Your company may use several verification methods to ensure accuracy:
Location Verification
The system can check that you’re physically at your assigned workplace using GPS coordinates. You’ll need to:
- Enable location services on your device
- Be within the designated geofence of your workplace
IP Address Verification
Ensures you’re connected to the company network when clocking in/out.
Device Recognition
The system remembers your authorized devices to prevent unauthorized clock-ins.

Handling Exceptions
If You Forget to Clock In
- Clock in as soon as you remember
